This can coincide with a zoo or other animal encounter. Learn about how animals have adapted to their environment or to predators.
Read books on:
Bring in or have a parent discuss this with kids
Have each kid pick an animal to learn about and identify some traits about how they would move and get around
Set up a race area
Discuss how each animal did after several races have been run.
If the kids are old enough have them participate in the March Mammal Madness program produced by the Arizona State University Library. It is hands down the best game for this out there and the commentary alone makes it worth playing.
Go to a zoo or other animal sanctuary.
